چکیده
Context Studies of Phoma black stem and leaf spot disease (caused by medicaginis) in annual medics (Medicago spp.) normally involve a ‘once-only’ inoculation not reflecting multiple pathogen infection phytoestrogen production cycles the field. Phytoestrogen plants can result lower ovulation rates grazing animals. Aims We aimed to determine whether sequential infections P. medicaginis increase phytoestrogens medics, measure genetic diversity isolates. Methods In greenhouse experiment, pathogenicity virulence were investigated across 32 isolates following one, two or three rounds M. polymorpha var. brevispina. Production coumestrol 4′-O-methyl was measured, correlation with parameters assessed. DNA sequencing using ITS, β-tubulin, calmodulin medicaginis-specific EFNI-1α applied for phylogenetic analysis from Western Australia elsewhere. Key results Across isolates, highest incidence 76%, petiole 61%, severity 52% 53%. Stem content range 45–1247 mg kg−1, 0–344 kg−1. All measures after inoculation. Overall, there positive (P < 0.05) both 4′-O-methylcoumestrol 0.01, P 0.05, respectively). Phylogenetic revealed high degree similarity among Australian generally grouping into single separate cluster four markers, genetically distinct sourced outside Australia. Conclusions Leaf best discriminating parameter content. similar unique, possibly due geographic separation. Implications The study emphasised importance inoculations when screening Medicago genotypes towards developing cultivars superior resistance enhanced animal reproductive outcomes.

Objective(s):To date, the most important genes responsible for tetracycline resistance among Acinetobacter baumannii isolates have been identified as tet A and tet B. This study was carried out to determine the rate of resistance to tetracycline and related antibiotics, and mechanisms of resistance. Materials and Methods: During the years 2010 and 2011, a total of 100 A. baumannii isolates we...

Objective(s): In the current research, the prevalence of Staphylococcus aureus clones and genes encoding antimicrobial resistance and toxins were examined among 120 S. aureus strains from nosocomial infections in tehran, Iran.Materials and Methods: Antimicrobial susceptibility was examined, based on disk diffusion and PCR method to identify resistance and toxin-encoding genes. Based on the poly...
متن کاملComparative Genomics of Two Sequential Candida glabrata Clinical Isolates
Candida glabrata is an important fungal pathogen which develops rapid antifungal resistance in treated patients. It is known that azole treatments lead to antifungal resistance in this fungal species and that multidrug efflux transporters are involved in this process. Specific mutations in the transcriptional regulator PDR1 result in upregulation of the transporters. In addition, we showed that...

Background: Staphylococcus hominis has been recently emerged as an opportunistic hospital-associated pathogen. The aim of this study was to characterize the antimicrobial susceptibility pattern, biofilm formation, and staphylococcal cassette chromosome mec (SCCmec) types among clinical isolates of S. hominis obtained from pediatric infections. Methods: Totall...
